This page lists vacant positions at Old Saint Paul's:
Closing date: 15 January 2017
Old Saint Paul’s Church is offering a choral scholarship for a TENOR voice, and seeks to fill this place with immediate effect.
Remuneration is £49.50 per week; although there is some flexibility, scholars are generally expected to sing a minimum of 45 weeks, with seven weeks’ holiday. (The choir does not sing during the month of July.)
There are two Sunday services:
- High Mass at 10.30am (preceded by a rehearsal at 10am)
- Choral Evensong and Benediction at 6.30pm (preceded by a rehearsal at 5.45pm)
There is also a Thursday evening rehearsal from 7.30pm-9pm.
Regular attendance at both High Mass and Evensong is expected of each choral scholar. The liturgical tradition at Old Saint Paul’s is Anglo-Catholic, and the musical repertoire is extremely wide and varied; great care is taken to integrate music and liturgy as appropriately as possible. The active and friendly congregation are particularly appreciative of fine liturgical music, and the choir includes a number of students. In 2014 the choir recorded a widely-acclaimed CD, Music for Advent.
