FEAST OF THE EPIPHANY

Sunday 08 January 2012 | All day

On Sunday 8 January we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany - the “manifestation” or showing of the Christ Child.

At the 10.30 am High Mass we process with the Magi to the Christmas Crib and offer wtih them the gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. The gold reminds us to purify our hearts and minds; the frankincense symbolises our prayers rising to heaven; the myrrh signifies Christ’s coming to heal the nations.

Solemn Evensong and Benediction are sung at 6.30 pm following the Blessing of the Light.
