Finance Committee

A sub-committee of the Vestry, the membership of the Finance Committee is comprised of a mix of Vestry members and others with a special interest from the congregation. The Convenor is a member of the Vestry and reports are made to him or her to take forward to the full Vestry meeting.

This Committee provides the knowledge and expertise on financial investment, taxation and the whole array of specialist money management involved in making sure that Old Saint Paul’s manages to stay in credit, at least most of the time.

It ensures that we have a proper Treasurer in place and seeks to support, advise and help that person with:

  • day to day financial procedures
  • financial management systems
  • budgeting, planning and monitoring
  • financial strategy and policy
  • preparation of the annual accounts of the Charge

The Finance Committee has a multi-faceted workload that is demanding both in terms of trying to make ends meet and ensuring that all our financial activities comply with all the right procedures and policies.

The Committee advises the Vestry on the purchase of goods and services for the Church and it supervises the arrangements for the letting of the Church and hall.
