Christmas at Old Saint Paul’s

Date Posted: Tuesday 15 December 2009

We welcome all to attend our Christmas services, celebrating the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Our services include:

  • Service of Carols and Readings, Sunday 20 December at 6.30pm: Readings and carols both old and new, sung by candlelight, to help us prepare for Christmas.
  • Children’s Crib Service, Thursday 24 December at 4.30pm: An informal Christmas Eve service for children, during which the Christmas Crib is prepared.
  • First Mass of Christmas, Thursday 24 December at 11.30pm: The always popular Midnight Mass of Christmas celebrated by candlelight. The choir sings Mozart’s Missa brevis in F; and there are popular traditional carols for all to sing. The Christmas Crib is dedicated at the end of the service, which concludes with the evergreen Silent night.
  • Family Christmas Mass, Friday 25 December at 10.30am: An informal service on Christmas morning for children and young families. The Christmas story with popular Christmas music.

We look forward to welcoming old and new friends. Baptised members of all churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion at our services.

Please see Forthcoming Services for details of these and all services at Old Saint Paul’s.
