Festival worship at Old Saint Paul’s

Date Posted: Monday 01 July 2013

During Edinburgh Festival time our regular Sunday services of High Mass at 10.30am and Solemn Evensong and Benediction at 6.30pm acquire a special character.

Our renowned choir, under the direction of Dr John Kitchen, brings out highlights from its repertoire, and we welcome the presence of many Festival vistors.

Special music this year includes Masses by Rheinberger, Léonce de Saint-Martin and Kenneth Leighton, and anthems ranging from Purcell to Charpentier and César Franck. The centenary of the birth of Benjamin Britten is marked with liturgical performances of his cantata Rejoice in the Lamb and the canticle Jubilate Deo.

Details of music for all our Festival services are available on the Forthcoming Services page.
