The Gospel of Mark
A group for anyone who would like to spend time reading and discussing the Gospel from which most of this year’s Sunday readings are taken. We hope to learn more about its background and content. The whole Gospel will be covered in the course of Lent. Two alternative meetings are offered.
Leader: Rev. Simon Tibbs
Times: Sundays from 1 March, 4.30pm, Lauder House
orTuesdays from 3 March, 7.30pm, Lauder House
This is our Faith
A course of teaching and discussion on basic Christian beliefs and practice, based on Jeffrey John’s magazine style introduction, This is our Faith. We will cover basic doctrines and sacraments, together with the questions that life asks of them. We will explore this in a way that is very open to the ideas of participants.
Leader: Fr Ian Paton
Times: Sundays from 1 March, 4.30pm, Lauder House
orTuesdays from 3 March, 7.30pm, Lauder House
Daily Prayer
For centuries Christians have identified their prayer with the wider church by using the Daily Office. If you would like to explore using this in your daily prayer during Lent, come to an introductory meeting, hear about this simple form of prayer, and be given the tools to try it for yourself. Then a further meeting will give opportunity to reflect on the experience.
Leader: Fr Ian Paton and Ministry Team

Introduction to Holy Week
Newcomers to OSP and long-serving members may welcome this opportunity to explore the symbolism and meaning of the Liturgies of Holy Week: footwashing, stripping of the altars, veneration of the Cross, the new fire, and the paschal candle, together with the services in which they feature, will be explained and discussed.
