New tithing support project for 2010

The congregational annual meeting on 14 December agreed to support Scotland Yard Adventure Centre as a tithing beneficiary during financial year 2010. The Yard is expected to receive 2.5% of total unrestricted income.
The Yard Adventure Centre, in the heart of Edinburgh, is the only purpose built indoor and outdoor adventure play facility in the east of Scotland for children and young people with additional support needs. The unique environment enables them to play freely and create their own ideas and experiences.
Families regularly refer to The Yard as ‘a lifeline’. It is a haven where their children can play safely and develop skills that will help them as adults. The whole family can play together and meet other families in similar circumstances and share their experiences.
The Yard is a place where children can explore, make friends, be creative, have fun and be themselves.
We hope to organise regular sessions where information can be exchanged between The Yard and the congregation. Further information is available from The Yard website or 2009 annual report.
