New Vestry elected

At the Annual Meeting of the congregation, held on 14 December, new members were elected to the Vestry (church council) of Old Saint Paul’s.

Frank Ribbons was elected People’s Churchwarden in succession to Janet de Vigne.  Helen Tyrrell and Lynne Niven were re-elected as Lay Representative and Alternate Lay Representative.  Tom Birch, Janet de Vigne and Jennie Gardiner were elected as ordinary members of the Vestry.

In other business, the Report and Accounts of the Vestry for 2008 were received, and the Rector reported on the past year.  Presentations were given on the music department by John Kitchen and on the Young Adults Social Group by Alice McMichael, Jubin Santra and Simon Tibbs.

The meeting also discussed the place of children in the church, and arrangements for going to the altar for Holy Communion.
