News from the Vestry - January 2008

The Vestry held its first meeting of 2008 on 9 January.  Amongst various items of business were:

  • the finance and property committees were re-constituted; Jim Wynn-Evans continues as Convenor of the property committee; Fr Ian Paton will stand in as acting Convenor 0f the finance committee pending a permanent proposal from the committee
  • Ginger Franklin was re-appointed Vestry Clerk for a term of three years
  • a request for further funding has been received from the Olive Orissa project to assist with the development of their medical service
  • an increase has been agreed to the hours provided by the children’s worker
  • group leaders will be invited to a meeting to discuss ongoing maintenance of their website areas
  • the property committee reported on developments at the tannery site, redecoration of the church hall, and repairs at Lauder House
  • meeting dates for 2008 were fixed, and will in future start at 6.30 for 6.45pm.
