Edinburgh Festival Season at Old Saint Paul’s 2024
This year during the festival season at Old Saint Paul’s Church (Venue 267) there will be
- Festival Sunday services: Masses at 10.30am and Evensong and Benediction at 6.30pm
- Old Saint Paul’s Hot Chocolate series (selected dates at 10pm).
Festival Services
Festival Masses will take place on all four Sundays in August at 10.30am in OSP. A service of Evensong and Benediction will be at 6.30pm.

Hot Chocolate Series
Concerts start at 10pm with a hot chocolate warmer!

- Tuesday 6 August – Organ recital by Luke Fitzgerald, Asst Organist Coventry Cathedral.
- Wednesday 7 August – Sangschule – Scotland: Heaven and Earth, sacred & secular song.
- Friday 9 August – Sing Baroque. Jenny Nex, soprano.
- Tuesday 13 August – The White Rose Ensemble: with Calum Robertson & Sally Carr.
- Wednesday 14 August – Ciaran Walker (organ) & Anna Yule (contralto) – works by Vaughan Williams.
- Tuesday 20 August – Sirocco Winds – including music by Mussorgsky and Oscar Navarro.
- Wednesday 21 August – Paul Newton-Jackson – Gaude Felix Anna: Music for St Anne and Mary from Sixteenth-Century Scotland- Ensemble Mater Matris.
- Friday 23 August – Chamber Concert – Prokofiev’s Quintet (1924) & Ruth Gipp’s Quintet (1941).

Festival of the Sacred Arts
Old Saint Paul’s will host two events which are part of the Festival of Sacred Arts.
- 1.15pm Tuesday 13 August – Paul Burrows, dancer/priest with Anne Young, narrator – ‘Dancing Ash Wednesday’ by T.S. Eliot.
- 8.00pm Friday 16 August – John Kitchen (organ) & OSP Choir & readers –
‘Ave Maria: Centuries of Prayer and Praise’.

- 10pm Thursday 1 August – Candlelight Concert: National Youth Choir of Scotland.
- 2.30pm 3-5 August – Voices of Lions Choir.
- 5pm 8-27 August – Etty…in transit’ – a one-woman play about Etty Hillesum.
