Join us tonight for our annual Laurie Lecture. This year, we are honoured to have The Very Rev’d Professor John Behr, Regius Chair in Humanity, University of Aberdeen with us, speaking on the topic “Gregory of Nyssa: On the Human Image of God”.

About the Speaker:
Fr John is a distinguished Orthodox theologian specialising in the early Patristic period. He was previously Dean of St Vladimir’s Seminary in New York before taking up his role as Professor of Humanity in Aberdeen in 2020. He is the author of many books, the most recent being a new critical edition of Gregory’s On the Human Image of God (OUP 2023).

About Laurie Lecture
Named after Canon Albert Ernest Laurie, a rector of Old Saint Paul’s from 1898 until his death in 1937, OSP started the Laurie Lecture last year with the aim of bringing a conversation among theology, the Church and the wider culture.
