The Vestry and three Committees of Old Saint Paul's are responsible for overall decision-making and running of the church.

The Vestry

The Vestry is the church council of Old Saint Paul’s. It is here that decisions are made on behalf of the congregation. These can range from organising activities and managing finances to caring for property and planning for the future.

Vestry members are elected at the Annual General Meeting after nominating themselves and being seconded by another member of the congregation. They act as Trustees for the church.

The Finance Committee

The Finance Committee advises on investment, taxation and money management so as to help the Trustees - the Vestry - take proper care of the church finances.

The Property Committee

The Property committee’s task is to keep the church and the Rectory in good order. This can be both challenging and rewarding, as our much-loved buildings need constant maintenance and frequent repair.

The Communications Committee

The Communications Committee looks after all aspects of interaction with and within the church, including:

  • looking after the website and members' newsletter
  • keeping social media channels up to date
  • advertising and streaming events and services
  • providing information about giving and how to get involved
  • promoting and improving accessibility.
